Old photos tell stories, and how we place those photos together makes the stories easier to understand. Today, I'll look through the photo file once again to fulfill a request from a loved one. As I look through the collection, I'll also create a few photo threads that I'll later use for short family history movies. The threads, I'll collect include the following themes:
- sisters
- brothers
- families
- holidays
- couples
I want to portray these themes through the ages because while the themes are timeless, the way those themes look in each generation is somewhat different due to the clothing and other contextual factors.
The key to looking through old photos with care is to look for those themes, themes that will translate important family or friend messages now and into the future. Onward.
