Yesterday I faced a relatively small, but bothersome problem. I was motivated to work against that problem. My energy for long overdue chores was magnificent and I used that energy to work at the problem with strength. That felt good.
Not all problems are as simple as this one--for this minor problem I had what I needed to work against the situation. This problem was more of a wake-up call to some home improvement tasks that had to be completed, dull tasks that I had been putting off, but when the problem occurred, my energy for that work grew and now the problem will hopefully be remedied soon.
Problems are often catalysts for good work, and when we take problems seriously and use an incremental approach towards improvement, the solutions tend to uplift our lives in many ways. On the other hand, if we resist problems, those problems become more cumbersome and oppressive.
So, next time a problem comes your way, use it to energize yourself to analyze the problem well, and then begin the step-by-step effort to remedy the situation. Onward.
