It's easy to criticize public leaders during a pandemic, but it is a lot more difficult to take responsiblity and do the right thing. How are you taking responsibilty during this pandemic to contribute to betterment at home, in your community and at the state and national level? What are you doing?
As you know, if you read my blog, this is a constant focus for me. I am always updating my personal to-do list as I learn more about the world around me. Today as I read so many posts and articles about the work lawmakers are doing, I thought about my own work and what I need to do. The list hasn't changed much, but instead taken on more urgency.
Be strong and healthy
I'm involved in an effort to increase my personal energy and strength--this is vital if I want to do more and better in the future.
Learn
For my next steps, I have to learn more. I have a number of well-recommended books waiting for me to read--these will increase my capacity to serve and do good substantially.
A positive routine
The only way to move forward is to establish a positive routine that takes you one step closer to your dreams every day.
Listen
I'm quick to talk, but more reluctant to listen. I have to work on this skill.
Reconsider affiliations and contribution
I am reflecting on my current affiliations with political leaders and groups. I am researching those groups and individuals more, and will make decisions about who I will support with time and a few dollars going forward.
Stay abreast of current issues
As part of my regular routine, I'll stay abreast of current issues via a variety of media channels, newspapers, and more.
Clearly, what we can do to better our lives and contribute is limitless. Making the time to choose what you'll do wisely will improve your life and the lives of others. Onward.
