Reframing opposition to Trumpism

This morning as I considered a number of perspectives and had conversations with family members, I decided it was time to reframe my opposition to Trumpism. Bottom line, I've spent that last four years working against the Trump teams' hate, lethargy, irresponsibility, ignorance, and self-serving actions that propped up their wealth, power, privilege, and pleasure while leaving so many Americans and others dangerously behind.

From the Trump team's manipulative, dangerous propaganda, exaggeration, and lies to their me-first actions, I was oppressed and terrorized every since Trump started his campaign to win the 2016 election. Like a cancer, they've spread sickness, death, and harm in every direction. In no way have they uplifted, unified, or bettered the United States as a country by the people for the people.

As I reframe, I will simply box the Trumpians as the evil, self-servers that they are, and put that box on in a virtual compost heap, hoping that once it will break down and eventually regenerate that energy and matter into what can be used for good similar to the way a terrible veggie meal can be composted to make good soil for next year's garden.

I want to focus on the good, the possibility, the promise ahead, promise that includes:

  • Rather than a government staffed to give political favors or gain donations with corrupt, inexperienced, self-serving family members and cronies, Biden has staffed his administration with experienced, committed, ready-to-serve professionals in countless fields.
  • Rather than a will to prop up his personal power, pleasure, privilege, and wealth, Joe Biden clearly wants to do a good job by the people and with the people. This inclusive and well-directed aim will definitely translate into good work for the people.
  • Joe Biden clearly understands how to prioritize--already, his priorities are people-centered as he focuses on the long-forgotten and abused raging pandemic. Trump only paid attention to the pandemic when he found ways to use it for his own gain and fame, he did not take a measured, scientific, collaborative approach to countering this deadly virus. Joe Biden is doing just the opposite to help the people.
  • I don't care what party you belong to, what I care about is the policies your support and the way you support those policies. I want to support people that stand up for and support what is good for good living for all Americans. I want to support those who share their honest opinions in peaceful, accurate ways, not those who ignore laws and use weapons, violence, and vandalism to make a point.
  • I will be looking at what I can do to forward the good rather than focus solely on the evil has Trump has prompted us to do for the past four years.
So, I'm sure that Trump terror will be front page news for the next three days, but after that, hopefully he'll be so busy paying his debts and fighting what seems like limitless legal battles that we'll only hear about his personal battles and not anything to do with any national obstruction or oppression.

I hope that all Americans will be able to see that Trump hurt our country and the people greatly. If people don't agree, I suggest that they study more, read the fine print, and understand how his misinformation campaigns, hate speech, incitement of deadly violence, self-serving decision making, will for pleasure, ignorance about our government and the important issues at hand, and use of politically-motivated cronyism and nepotism truly took the United States back for four years. We have some catching up to do after this Trump cancer, some good work to do. I'm ready.
