Trump offered purpose and belonging to the disenfranchised, and used them for his own gain/fame

Trump, an elite, used his propaganda power to appeal to the disenfranchised and use them for his own gain/fame. He lauds them with praise, provides them with a battle scenario with enemies, and gives them cause to come together. He offered these people a purpose, and for many, it's likely that they have felt disenfranchised in American society for multiple reasons. Sadly, this is Trump theater that manipulates vulnerable people for his team's personal wealth, power, privilege, and pleasure.

Yet, we have to take these people's allegiance seriously--what underlies their will to follow an errant President of the United States? Some will say it is purely White supremacy, and I do believe that there are a number of Trump followers, perhaps a large number, that solely follow Trump due to ignorant, dangerous, and hateful racist views. We need to find ways to counter this in every corner of the United States. Others, I believe, are simply angry and found enemies to lash out at via Trump propaganda, lies, and misinformation. And, there are those, like Trump, that are purely self-serving.

But what about the disenfranchised, people quickly drawn to Trump's hateful, untrue rhetoric--is there a way that we can bring these people into American society with greater success? According to one friend, to prosecute those who followed Trump's bidding and broke the law, they should be held accountable to the letter of the law to show society that you simply can't break the law and put the lives of others in danger. I agree with that. As for those tricked by propaganda social media streams, we have to find ways in this information age to insure freedom of the press while also halting dangerous propaganda--how do we do that. I suggest that Joe Biden appoint a commission to study that and make recommendations. There are many experts who understand this problem well. For those who simply follow Trump for single issues alone, we need to listen to their points of view, consider their positions, and decide if we agree, disagree, or if there's room for compromise--with good information and advocacy, we may be able to convince some of those people that there is a better way, and for those greedy like Trump we have to make sure that we have fair tax laws, lobbying restrictions, and other measures that keeps their power and greed in check so that everyone in the USA has a fair chance to live a good life.

I'm thinking about the Trump followers, and I'm thinking about why they would vote for such a self-serving liar as Trump--since there are so many of them, we have to consider who they are, what they need, and how we can rigthly and humanely bridge the divide that exists in ways that uplift All Americans. Onward.
