In the days after the deadly insurrection at The Capitol, many of the violent terrorist renagades have been interviewed. My reaction to their interviews has been that these are clearly rebels without a cause, renegades who seem to be taking the stage with murder, injury, terror, vandalism, looting, and obstruction of power mainly to bring attention to themselves and work for their own personal power, camaraderie, and gain like their destructive leader, Donald Trump.
These renagades who incited, staged, and carried out the deadly insurrection, and the renagades who continue to storm Congress with senseless words and pursuits aimed at their personal power alone do not appear to have any regard for the United States as a community of diverse people working together to form a more perfect union, a government whose principles focus on the welfare of all. Instead these Trumpians, like Donald Trump himself, are more interested in power, privilege, pleasure, and wealth for themselves rather than truly working for the benefit of the people of the United States. A democracy does not work like that.
Trump has formed an army of like-thinkers and doers, people who are willing to kill, injure, terrorize, vandalize, loot, obstruct, spread misinformation, and work for themselves alone while leaving everyone else in the wake of their lawless, self-serving violence, threats, and cheating.
It is truly a team of thugs, not political leaders, not inspiring individuals who want to lead a country that rightly works to uplift lives, protect the planet, and move us forward in a highly interdependent world with numerous shared problems and tremendous shared potenttial too.
What has Trump's renegade team done for you?
Have you truly watched them speak and act? Do you understand what they stand for?
These examples of their wayward, dangerous, ignorant, hurtful ways easily demonstrate the destruction they represent for our country.
Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Trumpian conspiracy theorist, propagandist, and angry, hateful lawmaker, spent time insulting David Hogg, a young man who was terrorized and lost loved ones at the Parkland High School massacre, and a young man who has transferred that experience and pain into tremendous advocacy for sensible gun laws in order to put an end to tragedies like Parkland. She's also raled against those whose children were massacred at Newtown by spreading lies. Green, like Trump, has garnered attention beccause of her inhumane, hateful, unimaginable behavior--rather than work for the common good, like Trump, she steals the show to prop up her own privilege, power, pleasure, and wealth.
Ivanka Trump, while working for her father in the White House, accrued sensational wealth. Upon leaving the White House, she and her husband bought a $30,000,000 property in Florida. She also increased her wealth during a deadly pandemic and a raging political campaign by obtaining trademarks for coffins and voting machines. Like her father, she didn't serve the people in significant ways, but instead made sure that her family continued to enjoy great privilege, wealth, power, and pleasure--like her father, she is a me-first politico that doesn't work for the common good, but works for herself first and foremost.
Trump's priority throughout his term in office was to make sure he was on the front page news everyday--he wanted to run the show and put forth an unforgettable personna. He wanted to accrue as much public support and publicity as he could as he understood that made it easier to manipulate the people in order to prop up his wealth, power, pleasure, and privilege. He never cared about the American people, his oath of office, or the potential a democracy holds for good living. Instead he ignored the problems that plagued us while he worked tirelessly to expand his brand, Trumpism, to become more powerful and profitable for him. I'm sure he sits back with happiness as he watches many of his Republican followers stick up for his violent, hateful, murderous efforts to overthrow a free and fair election. Trump is a dangerous, destructive, sick, and evil man who doesn't care about our country at all.
The many renegades who faithfully serve the Trump-clan, a team of dangerous, violent self-servers, clearly don't have any true understanding of our government or how it works. That's been clear from the the interviews with the perpetrators. What they do know is that they like their self-serving, violent leader, Donald Trump, and they do what he tells them to do. Working for Donald Trump seems to be like stepping into a violent video game or raucous reality show for these self-serving soldiers, and that's the way Trump likes it--Trump uses and abuses people time and again for his own gain. He's proved that time and again with his nonaction when it comes to solving the real problems that face us and nonaction with regard to working for people with humanity and tenacity.
These Trumpian renagades who have gained power thanks to Trump's sick, self-serving manipulation are taking the United States down with their deadly, obstructive ways.
We have to counter their rise in every way we can. We cannot be a successful, united country if we let these renegades abuse us and use us for their own whims, fantasies, greed, and bigotry.
Fortunately many Americans understand this. That's why Georgia elected two wonderful senators, and that's why the country elected President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. That's why more people than ever before voted and got involved in the Presidential election. Most people are not fooled by Trump-like politicians who don't care if we live or die, politicians that think government is a reality show--politicians who have not done the hard work to learn the law and work within the law to uplift lives. The Trump politicos are a lazy, self-serving, despicable freak show planned and organized to prop up the heinous power, privilege, pleasure, and wealth of a few.
These renagades do not stand for good government with and for the people. They don't stand for good living for most of us. They are a disgrace. And the best first step to putting an end to this hateful, deadly greed is to use the laws to rightly convict Trump of the despair, murder, injury, terror and obstruction of justice he staged and incited at The Capitol insurrection--the fourth deadliest domestic terror event during his term. That isn't the last step needed to rid our country of these dangerous and destructive politicians, but it is the right first step. We must do this.
