Moments of love in my life have been my favorite moments. . .first kisses, awkward initial intimacy, travel with beloved companions. . . . I love all aspects of love, and recognize that when we truly embrace what it means to be loving and act accordingly, life is so much better.
I'm definitely drawn to love stories and have likely watched and read thousands of those stories throughout my life, and I remember many of the scenes well. I have many favorite love scenes. Here are a few.
Schitt's Creek
I love this scene on so many levels. I love the way the David almost can't believe the love Patrick has for him, and how touched he is by this "butter voice beau seranading" him. I love the way David and Patrick turned a simple place in a rundown small town into a center for love, affirmation, community, and joy. I love the way their love empowers and touches those in the audience, and the symbolism of the new baby talk too as well as Moira's wonderful joy for her son. The lyrics and singing are awesome too.
Out of Africa
Poldark
There are so many beautiful love scenes in Poldark. It is not surprising that this series was produced by women, but the scene when Julia is born is absolutely beautiful.
Crazy, Stupid, Love
This too is one of my favorite movies, and who can forget this wonderful scene of newfound love.
Yours, Mine, and Ours
A big part of love is acceptance particularly acceptance when we are at our worst. This scene depicts this.
What love scenes speak to you. There are so many dimensions to love. Please share. I'll likely add more in days to come.
