Like many I am curious about why senators who took an oath to protect, preserve, and defend the United States Constitution would vote to acquit Donald Trump, a man who acted as a traitor to the country while President of the United States by inciting a deadly insurrection at our nation's capitol. I have many questions about these senators, and will likely research those questions in the days ahead.
- How many of these senators gained power in part by a family history of bigotry, hate and racism? Many are from states with long histories of slave-holding, racism, and deadly oppression to American Indians.
- How many of these senators have engaged in similar traitorous behavior as Trump? We have seen video footage of several of these senators inciting the insurgents -- what else did they do to incite, aid, and abet the insurrection on January 6th. I hope that the FBI and other investigative agencies will explore this question and hold those senators accountable.
- How many of these senators have outwardly or silently supported the extremist groups that stormed the Capitol? Have these senators belonged to White supremacist groups now or in the past? Have they supported White supremacist efforts in their states or the country?
- How many of these senators have succumbed to Trumpian bribes, donations, and doctrine to prop up their personal wealth, power, privilege, and pleasure alone without regard for what is right, good, and lawful for ALL Americans?
- In the days ahead, how many of these senators will be impeached and/or prosecuted of their own abdication of their Oath of Office and/or illegal activity--their own actions that worked against the United States Constitution and what is right, good, and lawful in our country?
Time will tell.
