We all know that words don't hold a lot of power if those words are not accompanies by matching actions. I thought about that this morning as I thought about the many ways we can show those we love that we care.
How often do we make actions like this a regular part of our routine. For some, sending a card, a box of cookies, or dropping by with a homecooked meal is a constant, and for others activities like that are infrequent at best.
I'd love to increase my ability to act with care in the days ahead. What can I do?
Sending cards
Many loved ones, especially now, have little contact with the extended family. Simply sending a card reminds them that you're thinking of them and wish them well.
Home made treats
Dropping off or mailing homemade treats certainly sweetens up your relationships and the people you love.
Homemade meals
Cooking for those you love is another way to show your love and care.
Performing needed chores
Just lending a hand or working with your loved ones on needed tasks are accessible ways to show kindness.
Generosity
Gifts of money, gift cards, needed objects helps people out and shows them that you care.
Time together
Planning adventures that you'll all enjoy spreads the love too.
You don't have to have a lot of money to reach out to those you love in ways that matter. Having time, of course, helps, and setting up your home so that it's easy to complete these tasks helps as well. Words alone are not enough, you have to make time to show those you love that you care. Onward.
