Please know that Donald Trump has cheated you in many, many ways. Don't sit back and let that happen. Call your senators and tell them that they must convict Donald Trump since he abused his power, was unfaithful to his oath of office, and cheated the American people in countless ways including the following:
- Trump used and abused his loyal followers. They came to D.C. to do Trump's bidding. We heard them say that time and again in videos of the January 6th event. They were excited to serve the President they loved, a President who used them for his own gain and fame--once they did his dirty work, once some were dead and others injured, he simply said that they should be prosecuted and held accountable for their violence that day. He threw them under the bus, turned his back on them, and felt no remorse.
- Trump abused the dollars that his loyal followers sent him to aid in his defense. He used $50,000,000 of those dollars to pay for advertising for the deadly Capitol insurrection event he branded, Stop the Steal. He spent more of those dollars to stage and carry out the event.
- Trump lied time and again to his followers about election fraud and many other topics. They trusted him, but he lied, and as he lied, he incited many of his followers to wreak violence in their communities creating worry, causing arrests, hurting people, and tearing families apart.
- Trump cost the American taxpayers countless extra dollars because of the violent insurrection he incited--the extra security alone has cost almost 1/2 billion dollars, $500,000,000 so far--that's equal to the average salary of about 20,000 Alabama residents. Trump doesn't care--if you study the work he did while in office, you will see that most of it was directed towards elevating his personal wealth, power, privilege, and pleasure, he didn't work for most Americans at all--he simply steps on us to get what he wants, that's his signature use/abuse move.
- Trump obstructed justice on January 6th. Rather than support a peaceful transfer of power, he put the lives of lawmakers, Capitol staff, and Capitol police in danger resulting in the death of some, injury of many, and terror of most. He sat back and watched it happen, and even when his closest family members, cronies, and lawmakers urged him to do his duty as Commander-in-Chief to stop the carnage, he didn't act for hours and took delight in the violence.
- Trump illegally tried to change the vote in his favor--he illegally worked to throw out or change the votes of Americans. He, himself, tried to steal and manipulate votes from Americans--he acted explicitly to steal that right from you.
- Trump caused significant costs to Americans who had to bury their loved ones who died that day, who incurred significant costs related to physical and psychological harm, who had to hire lawyers to support their prosecutions, and who lost salaries due to jail time and injury.
Trump clearly doesn't care about you or me--it's all about him, and it is right to convict a man, who as President, abused his power and harmed all Americans including his loyal followers who he manipulated, abused, and used for his own gain. Please call your senators today and tell them to do the right thing which is to Convict Trump.
