What have been and will be your COVID-19 milestones?

I thought about the COVID-19 milestones as we met with a couple of vaccine milestones yesterday. What have been your COVD-19 milestones and what will be those milestones going ahead.

Here are my milestones:

  1. Acknowledging the pandemic threat, encouraging school leaders to close school in March
  2. The move to virtual school--crafting a successful online school routine, program with colleagues
  3. Helping students make the most of Pandemic-style school, looking for ways to invigorate great learning
  4. Assessing student gains, revising the pandemic-style school as needed with colleagues, families and students
  5. Revising family/school celebrations, good times, connections with ZOOM, outdoor events, mask wearing, hand washing, and other pandemic precautions
  6. Learning a lot about the Pandemic
  7. Listening carefully and responding to school systems' decisions about pandemic-style school in the fall.
  8. Making a decision to retire given the facts at hand about return-to-school plans and COVID-19 threats.
  9. Retirement paperwork
  10. Safe pandemic get togethers with loved ones outdoors, wearing masks, and taking precautions seriously
  11. Remote college semester begins for my son.
  12. Working in ways that I can to remove elected leaders who do not take the pandemic seriously or work for the safety, welfare, and good living of the American people.
  13. Greater focus on my parents' care and needs during a pandemic
  14. Revising holiday celebrations that take pandemic precautions seriously
  15. Preparing my home for post-pandemic living and results
  16. Getting my parents' vaccine appointments
  17. Getting everyone else vaccine appointments as available
  18. Planning late-pandemic events and still taking precautions seriously
It's interesting to make a list of your COVID-19 milestones. That list tells the story about how you responded to such a challenging year and how you will continue to respond in ways that keep you safe, healthy and positive. I wish you well.
