What if you disappeared for a year from almost everyone and everything you know and love? What would happen if you took a year to retreat--a year to hide away from the day-to-day events, opinions, and questions? What would that year look like? What would you miss? What would you gain?
To do the work some are called to do requires a time of silence, disappearance, hiding out--we know people who have done that before. We've read their stories, milked their wisdom, and acknowledged their courage.
We can be too present, too available, and too in the moment at times. To lean back, way back, provides perspective, lifts energy, sharpens acuity. There are right times to disappear just as there are right times to be present. This is a choice I find intriguing to contemplate. Onward.
