What kind of life do you want?

At every turn in the road, we need to ask ourselves, What kind of life do I want? Because turns in the road leave you with choices about your next steps, choices that include the following categories.

Where do you want to live?

When life changes occur, it's time to revisit that question, Where do you want to live? Do you want to stay in your current surroundings or do you want to move? A good analysis of this question includes an overview of your finances as well as what you want in life?

What goals do you have?

What do you want to achieve and do in the next five, ten, or maybe twenty years? Creating a situation where the goals you prioritize are easy to achieve is positive.

Who do you want to be near?

Do you want family close by? Are there good friends you want to be around? Do you belong to a club or organization that you want accessible? This is an important consideration.

How can you maximize your funds?

Do you want to spend a lot of money on your home or would you rather spend that money on more services and care? Are you more interested in a mostly stay-put life or do you want more of a nomadic life?

How can you change your surroundings and routine to better support good living?

What big and small changes might you make to improve your life?

In the days ahead, I'll have these conversations with many family members who are considering their life changes in the days ahead. I'll be thinking of these questions myself too. Onward.
