I know that many are getting very tired of ZOOM celebrations and connections. Most of us long for a return to days of old when we gathered maskless with many to enjoy each others company, tell stories, and celebrate. But, we know that it's too soon to gather like that because most of us have not been vaccinated and the pandemic is still raging everywhere. So this means more ZOOM gatherings and celebrations.
Last night my husband and I gathered with family members to celebrate a loved one's birthday--there were some great trivia questions that led to good story telling, a beautiful cake, and the Happy Birthday song too. It was a warm, virtual gathering.
Next week, we'll gather with more family members to celebrate another loved one's birthday--we'll create a trivia slideshow that will hopefully inspire more storytelling and warmth as we celebrate that birthday.
Throughout the pandemic we've increased our ability to ZOOM effectively. Since so many of our loved ones live a long distance from one another, I suspect that ZOOM-like gatherings will remain a mainstay after the pandemic, a mainstay with less frequency since we'll be able to participate once again in the real time gatherings that hold us close and create good memories. Onward.
