Don't let anyone stand in your way of doing the right thing

Dr. Birx was taken by the Trump team and their White House privilege and connections. That was clear as we watched COVID-19 updates. Many are taken by wealth and privilege whether that wealth and privilege are good or bad. I bet most of us can think of a moment when we erred because we were attracted to what wealth and privilege seemingly brings to life. Yet, hopefully, most of us were strong enough to resist the temptation when that wealth and privilege compromised our values, morals, ethics. and what we knew is right and good.

It's hard to stand up to bullies, and even harder to stand up to bullies who carry great privilege, wealth, threats, and power. Yet, it is the right thing to do, and the more we do that, the easier it will be for others to do the right thing.

Recently I faced a similar issue on a much smaller scale. I was temtped to do the wrong thing because it was easier and proved my point, but ethically and morally it was not the right thing to do so I made a different choice--the kind of choice that represents who I am, what I believe in, and the best option for the situation at hand with the knowledge I have at this time.

We have to remind ourselves time and again that we can't be swayed awry by powerful people when it comes to what we know is right and good. We have to do what is right, there's no other way. Onward.
