For the past few months, I've been wading in unchartered waters with few maps or directions and a lot of best guesses and weak outreach. Finally, with some good support, I've connected with a large number of supports that are ready and willing to help us out with our loved one's care. In addition, getting the COVID-19 vaccine has given me more freedom to live without the grave fear of catching the virus. What does this mean? It means I can make a plan for some forward movement with regard to good care for my loved one and some good work to support political causes I care about, plans to see family members, and more healthful activity. This is all good.
Family Care
Now, with a plan in place, care for family will take on a more regular and positive routine--this is good.
Substitute Teaching
While I don't miss the systematic snags, oppression, poor leadership, and red tape associated with teaching school, I do miss the children so I've signed up to substitute teach for a couple days a week. Now that I'm vaccinated, I'm not worried about becoming gravely ill, and I look forward to working with children again--I do love the spark, surprise, and positivity working with children brings to your life. Also, the flexibility associated with substitute teaching, will give me the time I need for family care.
Political Advocacy
Making a few extra dollars as a substitute teacher will allow me to support a few political candidates and causes I believe in. That will enrich my life with the hopes that these great leaders, causes, and organizations will uplift society and lead to better living for all. I don't want a repeat of the dreadful, destructive, and hateful Trump years.
Fun
With vaccines on the rise, there is hope that we'll be able to return to some of the great adventures and good times of the past. I look forward to that.
Onward!
