I cried when I watched a grandmother express her joy after getting the COVID-19 vaccine. It's been a very long pandemic year with lots of losses as well as time spent searching for silver linings. In some ways, it has been like holding your breath for a very long time, and now we can sigh relief because there's hope on the horizon, it is emotional.
So as we face this positive turn, how does that affect our daily living--what will we do? First, in the final months, it is important that we continue to take the CDC guidelines seriously. We can trust the CDC and our federal government a lot more now that we have a truthsayer in office rather than a self-serving, corrupt liar. This is good.
And, as everyone knows, we all did find some silver linings that will become a mainstay in our lives going forward. I want to find ways to make those new and positive lifeways a regular part of life after the pandemic too.
When we re-enter society, it's a good idea to think about how we will do that safely and intentionally--hopefully we'll re-enter a bit wiser than when we left due to the pandemic.
Relief is on its way, and like most, I am very happy about this. Onward.
