This recipe seems healthy and delicious. |
Review of my diet demonstrated I was lacking protein so I've been researching high protein recipes. I've also been thinking a lot about substituting old time recipes and common foods with newer, healthier recipes and foods.
With attention to shopping, these are some substitutions I'll focus on:
- cut-up veggies and nuts rather than crackers, chips
- plain yogurt with fruit rather than ice cream
- adding more healthy protein sources to meals including beans, chicken, fish, tofu, eggs
- lots of salad items
- olive oil more than butter
- fresh tomatoes rather than canned tomatoes
- lots of roasted veggies
- preparing new kinds of healthy sauces, salsas, and other additions to spice up foods
- honey rather than sugar
- healthy snacks rather than baked goods
There are countless wonderful, healthy recipes and other information online which helps this quest tremendously.
