Healthy eating ideas

 

This recipe seems healthy and delicious. 

Review of my diet demonstrated I was lacking protein so I've been researching high protein recipes. I've also been thinking a lot about substituting old time recipes and common foods with newer, healthier recipes and foods. 

With attention to shopping, these are some substitutions I'll focus on:

  • cut-up veggies and nuts rather than crackers, chips
  • plain yogurt with fruit rather than ice cream
  • adding more healthy protein sources to meals including beans, chicken, fish, tofu, eggs
  • lots of salad items
  • olive oil more than butter
  • fresh tomatoes rather than canned tomatoes
  • lots of roasted veggies
  • preparing new kinds of healthy sauces, salsas, and other additions to spice up foods
  • honey rather than sugar
  • healthy snacks rather than baked goods
There are countless wonderful, healthy recipes and other information online which helps this quest tremendously.
