Recently a friend read one of my blog posts and thought I was writing about her, but the truth is that I was not specifically writing about her. Generally, I don't mention names in my posts because the lessons I learn and the ways I reach for are connected to multiple experiences not one or another. For example, sometimes when I refer to a "friend" I may be able to liken that post to a large number of similar experiences--it's not one friend or another, but lots of friends for whom I've had that experience with.
Some may find this disgenuine, but when you consider the focus of this blog, I don't believe it is disgenuine. The focus of this blog is to find ways to live well with as much respect and care for others as possible. I don't believe one life is better than another or one path is more valuable than another. Instead I believe that we all have our strengths and challenges, and that we're all on our individual paths which are different, but not better than worse than another. I'm interested in the finding as much truth about living a positive, loving life as possible as I want the best for myself and others. I believe we hold tremendous potential for what is right and good as individuals and as a people, and I love looking for that truth and potential as much as possible.
