What a year!

President Biden's speech tonight was comforting. After a very long year with the errant former guy in the White House, a raging pandemic, and changes to every area of life, I know that I'm weary. I also know that I'm so happy that our executive branch is in good hands. Biden started his term as President of the United States under very difficult circumstances. First, his predecessor, the former guy, did nothing to support a smoothe transition, in fact, he did a lot to cause a lot of terrifying comotion by not acknowledging his loss, staging and supporting a deadly, traitorous, terrorist insurrection at The Capitol, and doing little to secure a smooth transition of power. Biden handled all of that with grace, confidence, courage, and direction. He was the better man who patiently worked with his team to do all he could to start his Presidency with strength and a will to work with and for the American people.

Biden prioritized and got to work. He beat most of the goals he had for the first 100 days with respect, honesty, and lots and lots of hard work. He appointed a diverse, experienced team to lead with him--people who care about our country, know what they are doing, and who want to make promising change to uplift lives. This was so much better than the cronyism and nepotism that landed you a job during the former guy's disastrous and dangerous term.

And, of course, we all met with many, many challenges last year as the pandemic raged. So tonight, while I was comforted, confident, and happy with all that President Biden said, I also found myself a bit weary, yet ready to do what I can do to support a good USA with the capacity I have. It's been quite a year, and it looks like the year to come will be quite a bit better than the year we just had.
