Have you ever worked with a really great team in any way. I have, and it is a terrific experience. Before my sons were heavily involved in teamwork, I really didn't have much experience with what really great teamwork did for a project or goal, but after watching my sons and their teammates profit from so many aspects of valuable teams and coaches, I embraced teamwork.
Now as I continue to think of the role of teamwork in many of the endeavors I am involved in, I am realizing that the first step for any successful team is to ask the question, Are we a team? Sounds crazy, but sometimes whether you truly are a team or no may evoke different answers from people you work with. Some may fully embrace teamwork, and others may not embrace it at all.
Once you've figured out if the people you are working with truly acknowledge that you are a team and value teamwork, then it's time to coach each other forward toward success with your vision and goals. Onward.
