Social media threads were relatively slim when it came to images of good times in the past year. As people mostly hunkered down, stayed home, and searched for silver linings, there were fewer photos of people's adventures, celebrations, and parties. This morning, however, the threads were full of happy images at the beach, on boats, and at parties. Post-pandemic days are emerging.
As I looked at the photos of good times, I noticed lots of beautiful nature and many smiles too. Even though the locations, activities, and groups differed from one post to another, the common focus of good times with people you love remained the same.
Now that social media share is in full throttle again, we have to remind ourselves about how to look at those threads. Rather than with a judgemental lens or to compare, it is good to enjoy people's good times, gain good ideas, and share support for one another. Clearly, our similarities and differences are often on display via these many threads, and with the right attitude and positive share, these can be positive channels of exchange and connection. Onward.
