I've been visiting my parents weekly, and I've spent time with them, I've been amazed by their good sense of order. They do follow that motto, "Everthing in its place, and a place for everything." Their sense of order makes it easy to visit them and help them out. I know where things are, and I mostly know what they appreciate and like to do.
There is value in order, and it is important to find the order that fits your life goals and interests. If you're faithful to an order that does not include what you like to do or represent who you are, that order can be suffocating.
Since it has been a transition year for me moving from full-time teaching to full-time at-home, I've been reconsidering the order of my days and weeks, thinking about what works well. My parents have been good mentors in this regard as there is much about the order of their day that is healthy and positive--themes I want my order to reflect too. Onward.
