Ready for a new NEWS format

I'm ready for a new NEWS format. I'm tired of repetitious headline news that negates the complexity of situations. I'm also tired of entertainment news that gives Hollywood divorce the same importance or more than a world crisis. I'm also tired of endless analysis that seems to be circular and one sided. What format do I want?

Twitter?

I like the fact that via good follows on Twitter, I can get some quick, timely up-to-date headlines to explore.

Newspapers

I like reading articles about issues and events that I am truly interested in via online or in-hand newspapers, but as far as timeliness, a paper newspaper can't keep up with online news. I'm rethinking my paper-newspaper habit since I still like to spread a newspaper out on a table or rug to read a good article, but too often I've already read the news in the paper newspaper online by the time it arrives.

Books and Magazines

My house is filled with these and I do read them from time to time. I want to deepen this habit because I like the depth that these well written books and magazines bring to my thoughts, language, analysis, knowledge, and pure pleasure too.

Online searches

When I want information, I love question-driven searches that lead me to a countless variety of experts and other resources online. This is my favorite way to find out.

So with all this in mind, what kind of a news show do I want. Well, I like the ABC format of introducing what will come with a quick introduction at the start of the show, then giving each piece some good time and good facts. I don't like that they continue to give celebrity news too much time and attention, but, all in all, it's a good snapshot of what's going on. I like the BBC news via radio because that gives a better world view of what's happening, and I like many NPR stories. It's time to do a bit more research about what really makes a difference when it comes to knowing the truth of what's going on in this big world of ours as I do believe when we're well informed, we make better choices about how our world works for us and for others. Onward.
