Dealing with tough issues - what to do?

We all face tough issues from time to time. What do we do?

First, figure out what you can do to make a positive difference. With kindness and care, assess your own actions and make needed and known changes.

Next, reach out to offer support--figure out what you can do to help the situation.

After that, do what you can, and be grateful for what others do. Typically in complex situations, there is no quick fix and rarely can one person do all that is needed.

Then, keep learning, assessing, and adjusting as you go along. In complicated situations the landscape will likely keep changing, and you'll learn along the way what works well and what doesn't work so well.

Be collaborative too--again, rarely can you do all that is needed by yourself. You need to work as a team.

Be compassionate to yourself and others too. Tough situations are rarely ideal, and there are often losses, mistakes, misturns, and conflict--be gentle as you can with one another, show gratitude and care, and be forgiving.

We will all deal with tough issues in life. We have to positively self-coach ourselves in these situations, and do what we can to help out. Onward.
