If you have a competitive spirit, you may sometimes mistakenly apply that spirit to life. In general, good living is not a competition because good living is a unique combination for every individual--there's no one-size-fits-all for good living, but instead unique recipes for every person.
So when faced with life-as-a-contest situations, I think it's best to drill back to your life priorities. What matters to you? What do you value? What is special and unique about the life stories of those you love and care for?
I always remind myself, when we play the compare game, no one wins. Instead it's best to work with love and care to uplift our lives and the lives of others in the unique and special ways that matter. Onward.
