It's tough to say goodbye in any situation, and it is the most difficult when you say goodbye because your values and beliefs lead you in that direction.
Mike Pence spoke in New Hampshire last night. He's clearly a very weak man--a man who still honors Trump even though the Trump team put his life and our country at risk during the January 6th Insurgence. Rather than led by good values, Pence doesn't have the guts or depth to speak up for what is right and good--he's holding on to Trump as one would hold onto a lifesaver to hell.
We can't hold on to people, places, systems, or organizations that don't represent what is right and good for people. When faced with harmful, hateful, hurtful decisions, people, systems, and organizations, we have to say goodbye.
Too often, in society, people stick to the status quo because it is convenient, traditional, and accepting of who they are and what they do. This is harmful when that status quo is dehumanizing, harmful, and hateful. For example, Pence continues to hold tight to the Trumpian team because it is convenient for him, but this is wrong because Trumpian ways are hateful, harmful, hurtful ways--a Hitler-like direction that works against what is right and good for humanity.
It's tough to say goodbye, but we do have to rid our lives of the people, places, organizations, systems, and decisions that are dehumanizing, and instead embrace all that empowers and enriches humanity. Onward.
