I thought about leadership this morning, and the fact that each of us has many varied leaders in life. Who are these leaders and what do they do?
Leaders are the people we look up to for guidance, direction, and focus. And, in our many arenas of life, our leaders may look and act differently. The leader who takes your family on a trail ride versus the leader at work and political leaders have vastly different roles, expertise, outlooks and demeanor. We expect variation in leadership and know that these leaders will look and act differently depending on what they do and how they lead us.
What matters most is that those we choose to lead us have the expertise, focus, and concern that enriches our life and the lives of others. It is what the leaders know and do that matters.
