If you read any of my blogs, you know that one of my constant challenges is preparing my home, yard, and places of creativity and work for best possible results. My mother-in-law's motto of "Everything in its place and a place for everything," repeats in my mind each time I face this challenge. And, of course, as I evolve so do the places I live and work in. Today, on this rainy June morning, I'll take another crack at this challenge as I prepare for company.
Free of clutter
The first challenge is to free spaces of unnecessary clutter--if we don't use it, lose it for the most part. If it is very special, find a special place for it, but if it's not very special, then give it away.
Review your lifestyle
Items that were a mainstay of daily living ten years ago may be of little use today. Put your main objects in prominent, easy-to-access spots. This is especially true of the kitchen where many outdated, unuseful objects may continue to take up good space, space that can be used for your latest, best tools and equipment.
My motto related to this effort is "Less things, more time." I value time above things so by simplifying my home, I buy time which is my priority. Now for the work of living up to the words in this post.
