Slow down

In my opinion, American society suffers from a problem of speed--the society is too fast. We have to slow down.

One silver lining of the pandemic was that society did slow down, and that slower speed was evident with more children playing in and around the neighborhood, less cars on the road, more people walking, lots of home cooking, and greater intimacy with your loved ones.

When you use the race metaphor for life, you miss a lot of the beauty, joy, and good times possible when we make the time to slow down. I believe that every person, family, organization, and community has to do a speed audit with regard to their expectations and actions. I believe that a focus on slowing down can enrich the lives we live. Onward.
