What will you change to build a healthy culture with and for those you love?

Building a healthy culture at home truly leads to better living for yourself and those you love. What can you change and do in your own life to build that culture?

Nutritious foods

Taking time to be more mindful about the foods you buy is one way to build a healthier culture at home. Marketeers will have us believe that some foods will result in healthier, happier lives, but we can't trust the advertisements. Instead we have to look to the science of nutrition to help know what foods really do fuel our healthy lives, and how to prepare those foods in delicious, nutritious, and inviting ways. Many of us definitely have to unlearn ways and habits of the past to be able to include more nutritious, delicious foods in our diet and routines.

Healthy activity

Fun in many ways is associated with unhealthy activity, yet there are so many ways to have a good time in healthy, positive ways. We have to change our habits related to a good time too. How can we do that? What will we do? To replace each less healthy activity with a more healthy activity is a start on this journey. For example this weekend rather than simply meat and eat, we'll start our get together with a good hike and then follow-up with some delicious food and relaxation.

Positive social relationships

How can we update our social relationships in ways that are happy and healthy. Do we need to retire too much sarcasm, tough love, ridicule, and bigotry in favor of more positivity, inclusion, and acceptance to upgrade our relationships. How do we build the kinds of relationships that truly help us to have happier, healthier lives?

As I embrace a more healthy lifestyle, I am thinking of the ways I will change what's expected in the days to come in order to include greater healthy joy and happiness. Onward.
