Sadly, there are those who profit from your loss. Rather than work to support you, they do what they can to push you down, hurt you, and block your success. Why do people do this?
People work against you for all kinds of reasons both consciously and unconsciously. Perhaps you played a role in their early life that was not positive. Perhaps you play a role now that compromises who they are and where they are headed. Maybe they simply need space and time from you or you represent a struggle they have not come to terms with. They may be jealous, angry, or upset with you. There can be all kinds of reasons why a person will work against you, and often you may not knowingly understand this.
What do you do when this happens?
First, you can try to make peace with the person--talk it over and come to mutual agreements.
Next, if that doesn't work, you probably have to make some space between that person and you. With time and space, you may understand what is happening more.
And, in the worst case scenarios, you may have to seek support to stay safe and live your good life.
Bottom line, we do well to live our best possible lives for ourselves and others. If people stand in the way of those good lives, we have to figure out what's happening, try to make amends, and then if good connections are not possible, make some safe space.
We're all on different paths in life. Sometimes our paths will move together and sometimes our paths will intersect. There will be opposing paths and parallel paths. We have to respect each other's paths, and move in our own direction with as much peace, grace, purpose, and good living possible. Onward.
