We don't have a hard, fast Fourth of July tradition. In fact, every Fourth of July we do something different. This year it will be a celebratory dinner at my Mom and Dad's house with relaties--we'll have lobster rolls, potato salad, coleslaw, watermelon, corn-on-the-cob and dessert. It's a rainy Fourth of July weekend, but we'll make the best of it.
Years past our Fourth of July's have included cookouts with family members, local parades, and beach trips. One of my favorite Fourth of July's was long ago when our entire family watched the fireworks at Green Hill Park. It felt like the beautiful, bright fireworks were falling righ on top of me--it was magical.
As we look forward, I want to make sure that we establish some good traditions for the holidays--loose-tight traditons that welcome people, but let them make their own choices. Onward.
