I listened to a few tales of life's struggles and sadness as I walked with a friend recently. As I told my friend, I don't wish anyone great sadness or struggle, and I ache when I hear of the challenges some people face. My friend went on to tell me the ways she's acted to mitigated that struggle and sadness for others--her acts were worthy, loving, kind, and thoughtful. She's clearly a good woman--the kind of person that not only does what is right and good for others, but she inspires that kind of positive action in people too. After spending the day with that woman, I find myself wanting to do more and better.
We often can't solve the struggles and sadness others face, but we can mitigate the challenges with acts of kindness that show people that we care. If we focus on that good we can do, we will certainly better other lives and our own lives too. Onward.
