A long while ago when speaking to a wise woman, she told me to trust my intuition. Since that time, I've been learning how to trust that intuition, and I am getting better at that. For example, recently I recognized a struggle in my midst. My intuition warned me, and rather than ignore or simply worry about what my intuition signaled, I prepared for that struggle by taking a hard look at my values and choices so that when the struggle emerges, I can lean on those values and good choices while facing the struggle with an open mind, humanity, and a will to support the best possible solution.
Struggles will happen and those struggles will be both expected and unexpected. If we can face struggles with our most essential values, we will weather those storms well.
These are the essential values with which I want to face struggles with:
- I desire a good life for all people; I believe that everyone deserves to live a life with joy, satisfaction, love, inspiration, comfort, and positive challenge.
- I desire an world community where people work together for both individual and the common good.
- I believe that no one should be treated poorly because of the lifeways they choose as long as those lifeways do not hurt or harm others.
- I believe that we have to take the best possible care of children, the elderly, and those who are physically or mentally challenged.
- I believe that together, we mostly do better, and that problems are better solved with a spirit of collaboration and good will.
