Sometimes we're attracted to paths that are not right for us at this time. The paths may be positive, but simply not what is best for us at the moment. That's when we have to say, No, that's not for me right now.
How do we know what is right for us at the moment? That decision comes down to our values and priorities. For example, recently a friend had to make a hard choice, and that friend chose to be there for family members and forgo a long awaited, enjoyable event. His values put family first. Down the road, I'm sure he won't regret that choice.
Sometimes I find myself lured to paths that are simply not right for me at the moment--paths that are positive and attractive, but simply not the right choice given my values and the ways of the world at this time.
Knowing your values and priorities will help you to say no to paths that are not right for you at this time. It is important to say no sometimes.
