Lately I've been hooked on a show that is not popular with people I know and love, but the show draws me in. One reason I love the show so much is that the main character is truly a loving, helpful person. Different from many I know, the main character in this show reaches out when problems occur and is not afraid to add his wisdom to situations in a loving, caring way. Many feel like reaching out in this way is butting in, but in the show, this man's willingness to reach out is, in part, what makes his family strong and loving, and for me, the aim of creating and nurturing strong and loving groups is a good aim in life.
In the show, this kind man's efforts don't result in same endings, but instead in honest, positive endings that work well for the people involved. It's not a one-size-fits-all recipe for living, but instead a right response for the situation that exists. Long ago when I was experiencing a tough time, a colleague reached out to me in an honest, personal way. I took her advice and it made a significant difference in my life--I always appreciated her willingness to speak up to me and offer honest advice, the kind of advice that some would think of as intrusive, but advice that I found to be pivotal to a good resolve for the problem I faced.
So while I don't want to butt in, I do want to promote as much love, good will, and support as I can because I do believe that helps us to live best possible lives. Onward.
