Now that we're well into the COVID second year, it's clear that we have to learn to live with the threat of infection. Honestly, the threat of infection has always been around, but the fact that COVID-19 can be a deadly virus has made us more cautious, but we can't stop living so what will we do.
Mask up when needed
Fortunately, the simple act of wearing a mask prevents the spread of this deadly virus. That's awesome. So when social distancing is not possible and in places where the virus is raging, where a mask. It's that simple.
Get vaccinated
The research is there that proves vaccination saves lives and reduces the extent which the virus affects healthy people. The vaccination is safe in almost every case--get vaccinated!
Maintain healthy habits
Hand washing, social distancing, researching the places where you'll travel to, work at, and recreate, and doing all else you can to stay healthy will help.
Plan safe-as-possible events
Meet outdoors, engage in healthy activity, dine alfresco when possible and visit places when they are less crowded or planned to keep crowds low.
When you're sick, stay at home
Don't risk the health of others. When sick, stay at home, and if sick, see a doctor sooner than later.
We are living with the fear of infection, and if we want to live a healthy, long life, we will heed the advice of experts and thoughtfully plan our time. Positive social events, athletic endeavor, nutritious foods, and happiness all lead to good health too, so live with the fear of infection, but also make sure that you are living a full life too and not simply cowering in a corner waiting for this to pass. Onward.
