Support for service workers

 Yesterday a service worker made a costly error with regard to my elderly dad. The error was not purposeful, but unfortunate. No one was gravely hurt in any way, but it was a costly error. My dad and others were upset. I reached out to the service worker who erred, and I understood why the error was made. Fortunately, while the mistake was expensive, we were able to pay the related fee.

Once, many years ago, I made a terrible mistake with regard to a student. I shared the student's private information to the whole class community. My words were respectful, but it was not my job to tell the whole community of the child's issue. The child's parents were so understanding and forgiving. I was so grateful for their support and apologized to the class community. I learned a valuable lesson and was grateful for the  parents' and child's understanding and support. 

Service work of any kind is challenging work. It is difficult to always do what is right and good when working with a large variety of people and factors. If we support service workers and the supports that make their work positive and successful, we support a good world for one another. That support is essential. Onward.
