The days ahead: the twists and turns of good living

A once rather predictable life for me has become a much more unpredictable, spontaneous life. That's neither good nor bad, but instead the way things are. I want to live this twisty, turvy life of novelty with as much good energy as possible. What will that take?

Caring for loved ones

More than anything else, I want to be there for my loved ones. If you read my blog, you know that family and friends take center stage of my existence, and I love being able to help them out, spend time with them, and navigate good lives together. There are many celebrations, adventures, and outings ahead, and I want to be present at those events in ways that demonstrate my love, care, and support for those I love.

Simple living

Less things, more time. That's my motto--I love having the time and ability to do what I want much more than I like having lots of possessions. For me, for the most part, the simpler my life, the richer my life.

No judgement or projection

I truly want to respect the may ways people live their lives around me as long as they are not hurting and harming others. There's many ways to live life well, and I want to respect that.

Create

Nothing brings me more pleasure than creating something that's beautiful, warm, and enriching. My little backyard garden is a great example of that. I love tending to the garden, cooking with the garden vegetables, and rearranging the plants to make it more beautiful and bountiful. Similarly I love the creativity involved in the family history project, cousin gatherings, holiday preparations, celebrations, and other research and adventure projects.

Get the onorous jobs done

If there are dreadful jobs that need doing, just do them. Procrastinating on those deadly jobs simply makes life a chore.

Invest in your dreams

Make time to dream, and then invest in those dreams with your time and plans.

Get some help

Sometimes we can't seem to find our way, and that's when we need to get some help--there's all kinds of help available, and there is help that doesn't cost much available if you look for it. That's one valuable path to better living.

We all deserve a good life, and we all have to figure out how to get there. There are multiple paths to happiness and good living, and it's worth making the time to chart that course.
