The value of service workers

I'm using the broadest definition of service worker as anyone who works in service to others, and in society these people when doing their jobs well are invaluable to our good living. Yesterday when I attended a medical appointment with a loved one, I was amazed at the medical professional's demeanor, care, expertise, and attention. Not only did the woman address my loved one's issue at hand, but she uplifted his spirit, confidence, and will to take good care of himself. This was incredible.

Too often in society we pay great praise, financial support, and time to those whose time is mainly spent in efforts to prop up their personal wealth, power and pleasure while finding fault with and not supporting those who truly do the work to uplift our lives and communities. We need a mindshift and support-shift to better support service workers in all industries with fair pay, just work conditions, respect, and support for their continued professional training and good work.

The Trump gang wanted to turn our attention away from all that supports a good, respectful country to fear, anxiety, threats, and suspicions that detrimentally affected our most prized and valuable work, relationships, institutions, and potential. Their spread of misinformation and the self-serving values and trickery they spread worked against the strong foundation of good living in place for so many and the potential of good living for so many more.

We need good service workers of all kinds to better lives for all of us. They deserve our respect and support. This is essential.
