Mostly I don't like driving. I also don't like being stuck places or being relegated to someone else's schedule, priorities, and space. I like my spaces, schedule, and being places where I can mostly walk or bike.
Since retiring from my teaching career, I've been paying a lot of attention to what I like a lot and what I don't like. Sounds silly, but as a mostly obedient individual I was living amongst some long held routines and structures for a long while in life which doesn't leave a lot of time for choosing your own path.
It is just as important to know what you don't like as it is to know what you do like, and then to create a life that leans towards your likes rather than your dislikes.
Today, I will engage in a number of less favored activities because that's necesary, but if I were in charge of the world, I would change those structures to better accommodate my life, but that's not possible since I'm not in charge of today's tasks, but I value the people the tasks support so I just go along and make the best of it. I'm sure that others do that for me from time to time too, yet I hope that as I age, I can create structures with loved ones so that I can make life as inviting and pleasing as possible. Though, I know that's not always possible.
When we do things we don't like for good reason, we learn a lot about ourselves and others. Today I'll likely learn a lot. Onward.
