My wish list helps me to sustain energy for the dull and laborious tasks in life. If I know I'm working for something good, my energy leaps, and that's good for almost any dull job. So as I prepare to utilize the cool, dry weather today to complete a large number of mundane tasks, I want to be cognizant of my wish list--what I'm working for.
Family celebrations
We have a number of family celebrations coming up. I don't want to miss these celebrations and I want to give the special events and people the personal attention they deserve. Celebrations are touchstone events that bring us closer, creates great memories, and enriches the common culture of any group. The celebrations coming up include birthdays, anniversaries, the start of the fall college semester and college sports, and a wedding. There's lots to do to prepare for these special days and special people.
Hosting
We'll host family members and friends in the weeks ahead, and there's work to do to prepare the house for their visits.
Adventure
I'm finding that a few good adventures truly energize me, and we've got a few adventures planned, adventures including long swims, kayaking, mountain climbing, and bike riding. To ready for those adventures we need to organize the needed equipment for safe, comfortable exploration and fun.
Travel
We'll travel a bit in the months ahead, and travel requires organization to get the paperwork in order as well as the travel gear and plans.
Caretaking
My life today includes a fair share of caretaking, and to do that work well requires organization and planning. I need to review the caretaking list and anticipate the needs ahead to do the job well. This regular reset helps to keep the caretaking fresh and positive.
Personal goals
As I look ahead, I've set a number of meaningful personal goals that will help me to move to a new place in terms of work and relationships in the months ahead. This goal work demands allegiance and attention as it does not come naturally yet.
So today we'll stay home and attend to the many preparation and planning tasks needed for the wishes we have for the days, weeks, months, and years ahead. Onward.
