Recently on Twitter, an individual suggested that we change I have to. . . to I have the privilege to . . . I've tried that in the past few days, and it is a remarkable change with regard to your mindset. For example you could say, I have to care for my loved one or I have the privilege to care for my loved one. One phrase sees life as a burden while the other interprets life as an opportunity.
Looking at the tasks and efforts of life as an opportunity leads you to a spirit of gratitude as well as the knowledge that these opportunities are fleeting and precious. An opportunity today may not be an opportunity tomorrow so seize the day and make the most of what you are able to do.
This is a positive mindshift. Onward.
