We all hold goals for our lives and those goals require regular reflection to see if they are well directed and to know if we are doing all that we can to achieve those goals in successful, positive ways.
How do we know if our goals are well directed?
Visualize
Visualize who you will be once you achieve that goal. Make your visualization real by writing about who you will become in detail, drawing a picture, or making a collage. Refer to that vizualization creation often to stay invested in this effort.
Create a routine for goal achievement
Create a weekly routine that will help you achieve your goals. Stick to that routine.
Identify what is standing in our way
Goal achievement is often difficult. Identify what is standing in your way, and eliminate or mitigate those factors.
Chart your successes
Keep a log related to how you are doing with your goals. Celebrate the small wins with small, positive rewards.
Share the goals with a small number of supportive individuals
Some people support us greatly and others don't. Figure out who will be your best cheerleaders for the goals you have in mind and enlist their support.
In many ways, goal setting makes life interesting and improves your life, but this work is not always easy. Charting a good path in the direction of achieving your goals is the right way to go.
