When I think of my energy, I see a topographical map in my mind as my energy is a series of somewhat unpredictable highs, lows, and plateaus. When my energy is strong, I leap, and when it is low, I relax and often watch uplifting movies. During those plateau times, I complete typical daily tasks. This energy variation also includes golden moments of synergy--the moments when the ideas come together in a beautiful revelation, equation, or surge of purposeful effort. One reason that I am so cognizant about my energy is that my mind is filled to the brim with ideas and actions I want to pursue, and I need good energy to pursue those ideas and actions.
I thought of this topic today since I've been on a five-day spurt of good energy. I accomplished a lot, but I didn't have enough reserve for the sixth event so I had to cancel. I was disappointed about this, but I simply knew that if I pushed my energy to the max one more day, I would make a mistake. I didn't want to risk the kind of grave error that can occur when you are very tired and need a day of rest.
Also, I participated in a real push for me this weekend. My sister and I along with other loved ones climbed a local mountain. My sister cautioned me to save energy for this endeavor which I did, and because of that, we successful reached the summit. For many, it would be a small feat, but for me, it was a significant accomplishment that illustrated to me how important it is to navigate our energy in ways that direct us to accomplish meaningful tasks and endeavor.
More and more people are recognizing the need to navigate their energy. Perhaps this has to do with the calvacade of choices we have thanks to the easy flow of information on the Internet. Whatever the reason, the truth is that when we use good energy navigation, we can direct our energy in ways that make our days more meaningful, happy, and successful for ourselves and others. Onward.
