The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly changed life as we know it. The virus is an enemy lurking everywhere, and our individual and collective battles to avoid this enemy are varied and intense. Thankfully scientists worked overtime to create a vaccine which has brought many some comfort as well as some ability to live life as we want to.
How will I continue to live safely and well during this lengthy pandemic? What will I do?
Vaccinate
I am vaccinated and I am staying abreaast of all booster information. I will get the booster as soon as it is ready and I am getting my flu shot soon. I want to prevent catching the virus in every way that I can. I've read about the way the virus attacks the body and I want to avoid that.
Avoid the virus
I will avoid the virus as much as possible by staying clear of large public gatherings where I don't know if people are vaccinated or not. At less large gatherings of strangers with good protocols in place, I will attend wearing a mask and following those protocols. Then at smaller events with people I know and love who are vaccinated, I will attend and likely not wear a mask since the threat of the virus will be small amongst those groups.
Good health
I've used this COVID-19 time to improve my health in a number of ways. I've been learning a lot about nutritious foods, exercise, and healthy routines. I have enjoyed this study and I love being as healthy as I can be. There's still more to learn and I will continue this positive journey.
Good times
We managed to have many good, safe times during the pandemic with the following protocols:
- Gather outside whenever possible
- Make the home warm and welcoming
- Reduce contact with those who are not vaccinated
- Wear masks in public places
- Be choosy about the indoor events we attend
- Focus on healthy, positive routines, interests, and gatherings
