When it doesn't go the way you want it to

Recently a plan didn't go the way I wanted it to. I was frustrated, upset and stuck. Why didn't the plan work? What happened? Why didn't anyone see it my way?

I thought a lot about it. Slept on it. Talked to a friend about it, and now finally, I'm past it--okay it didn't go the way I hoped for, but there are alternatives, new ways to think about the plan, and truly, did the thwarted plan make much of a difference with regard to the quality of life.

When things don't go the way we want them to, we naturally go through a few steps including disappointment, reflection/analysis and reset.

Hopefully by the time we get to the reset we've learned something along the way about that kind of event, the people included, or the way we handled it in the first place so next time the plans go smoother.

Often events don't go as we plan due to a large variety of reasons, but that's not a reason to give up--if that kind of planning or those kinds of events are important to you, simply reset your planning efforts and the plans to make way for a meaningful, positive endeavor. Onward.
