Anticipation

Anticipation has me up at the wee hours of the morning today. I couldn't sleep anymore, and when that persists for considerable time, it's a wake-up call.

We're in the midst of a celebration that's bringing together so many loved ones from near and far. Seeing each person and hearing so many stories and memories of the days we spent together brings me great joy.

Simply having a chance to see one another, share a few words and enjoy a beautiful setting is pure pleasure. Laughter, hugs between old friends, children running and playing, good food and drink, the warm glow of a fire, old photos and music set the stage.

As the celebration continues, I want to relish each moment:

  • The intimacy of quiet moments with loved ones
  • The rowdy cheer of an excited group of men
  • Visiting with people I've yet to visit with
  • Wearing special clothes and posing for pictures
  • Riding on a gondola and taking in the daytime and nighttime vistas all around
  • Being present for a meaningful ceremony
  • More stories and cheer
  • Enjoying the music, dancing
  • Karaoke, games, reverie
I remember good times like these past. They don't happen that often, so I want to enjoy every minutes. Onward.
