Big day highlights and the days ahead

I keep returning to the wedding day, thinking about the highlights which included a wonderful hike in the woods, a comfy condo rental, a beautiful bride and handsome groom, happy good people, lots of cheer, meaningful toasts, tremendous generosity, a beautiful fall mountain setting, a variety of wonderful events that ranged in size and setting including a Rehearsal Lunch, a Welcome Party, Hair and Make-Up Brunch, Groomsmen Brunch, Wedding Ceremony, Wedding Reception, After-Party, and Lakeside Brunch. There was good food and good cheer at every event. And there was the beautiful gondola ride to the event as well as the somewhat scary dark gondola ride from the event. The reception room decor was beautiful, and the views from every venue awesome. It was an unforgettable celebration--one I'll revisit again and again.

Most of all it was a special celebration for our entire family and especially a special celebration for the bride and groom.

As I look ahead from this celebration, what do I want to take with with me.

First of all there were so many gracious people at the celebration--people who expressed their gratitude and love for the bride and groom as well as others at the event. The spirit of gratitude and love for one another and times present and past was evident. I want to take that gratitude, love, and gracious spirit ahead with me.

Good cheer. People were happy and positive!

Health and fitness. The dance floor was filled with healthy, fit people who were enjoying every minute of the celebration. To be healthy and fit means you do have the energy to enjoy good times. I want to reach for as much health and fitness as possible.

Planning and preparation lead to wonderful events. The tremendous creative planning and prep that was invested in this event paid off--the venue looked beautiful and there was something for everyone to enjoy. Our families were well represented in meaningful ways. So to take the time to plan and prep for events is something I want to do.

Commitment brings a sense of security, love and care. To commit to one another in loving, supportive ways builds strong families and good living. I want to think about commitment and how I can shore up that aspect of life to support good living for those I love and care for.

The more we love one another in ways that are caring and meaningful, the better. That's the big take away from the wedding--that's the direction I'm heading in. Onward.
